you need to get connected with a brokerage company like td ameritrade, charles schwab or similar type company.then decide if it is for retirement or not because you can open an account that is not an ira if you want or if it is for retirement than you can go with an ira if you choose.but if you go with an ira you can't take money out of it untill you are 59 1/2 years old.then after that start off with some large cap mutual funds with low fees.
References :
Talk to a finacial planner. They probably have one at your bank. It will cost nothing & they will help you make plans for the future. Most people can save money, the trick is where to put that money where it will do you the most good.

p.s. Thanks to my planner. l will retire in 80 days at age 59.
References :
According to The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (the people who license and test probation officers in Oregon) there is no physical agility test of any sort.
There is a medical physical but no fitness test.

I have never heard anything even suggesting a fitness or agility test for any probation officer anywhere in the US
References :
retired cop, M.ASci-Law Enforcement Administration

Start with a Budget. You need to know exactly where your income is going. Decide what you can eliminate and put as much as possible into savings.
Two income couple could live on one income and invest the entire second income.
From bank savings move cash into No Load Mutual Funds. As the amount increases invest in stock and purchase rental property. Keep parlaying assets into larger and stronger investments.
References :
You start with a list of your assets and funds available for investment.

1) Then you determine how you are going to apportion those funds among various levels of risk.

(The greater the risk, generally the greater the return if the risk is successful)

2) then you decide.

3) Then you check it at some point, and see step 1
References :
No state I'm aware of has a fitness requirement for PO's. Except apparently now Oregon.... I'd say most do not.
References :
Although both public health and law enforcement protect the public, the approach and nature of the work performed in the two disciplines are quite different. The similarities and differences in public health and law enforcement investigations have to be understood and coordinated so that both can be most effective ( Table ). Public health investigations generally take an inductive approach. Persons are interviewed, data are collected, hypotheses are developed to explain transmission, and epidemiological and laboratory studies are conducted to test these hypotheses. If the studies confirm the hypothesis, prevention and control strategies are developed, implemented, and evaluated. All this work is held to the standard of scientific peer review, generally through presentation of data at scientific meetings and publication in a scientific journal.
References :
Singapore has a non-modified universal healthcare system where the government ensures affordability of healthcare within the public health system, largely through a system of compulsory savings, subsidies and price controls. Singapore's system uses a combination of compulsory savings from payroll deductions to provide subsidies within a nationalized health insurance plan known as Medisave. Within Medisave, each citizen accumulates funds that are individually tracked, and such funds can be pooled within and across an entire extended family. The vast majority of Singapore citizens have substantial savings in this scheme. One of three levels of subsidy is chosen by the patient at the time of the healthcare episode.
I have found this information from wikipedia. And I am giving u a link of a site where u will find information about health.
References :
http://www.healthandfinesse.com
